Career
Yannick was born in Copenhagen and began to receive his football education there. He attended schools in various Danish clubs, including Frem, Copenhagen and Brondby.
In 2010, Westergor signed a contract with the German "Hoffenheim", which every year improves its academy and more carefully and globally searches for players. At first, Yannick trained in the youth team, but soon became a player in the second Hoffenheim team. In it, he had a chance to make his debut on August 12, 2010 in the guest match of the 2nd round of the Southern Regional League against Vortmatia Worms , which ended in a victory with a score of 5: 1. On January 27, 2015, Westergor moved to the Bremen Werder Bremen , signing a contract until 2018 [5] . He made his debut for the club in the match of the first round of the 2014/2015 season against Hertha .
On June 11, 2016, Westregor moved to the Monchengladbach Borussia , signing a contract until June 2021 . In the first season he played for the club all 34 championship matches.
July 13, 2018 Yannick Westergor became a player in Southampton [6] . The Dane signed a contract with the English club until the summer of 2022, the transfer amount was 20 million euros [7] .
Family
Yannika's uncle and grandfather were also professional footballers. Grandfather Hannes Schroers was a player of Uerdingen and Düsseldorf 's Fortuna , and also managed to play two games for West Ham . His uncle, Jan Schroers, was a player on the Uerdingen youth team, but was seriously injured and was forced to end up with football [8] .
