Edward Gray, 6th Baron Ferrers of Growby

Edward Gray ( born Edward Gray ; c. 1415 - December 18, 1457 ) - Baron Ferrers of Grouby (by the right of his wife) since 1446, 6th Baron Estley since 1448 , son of Reginald de Gray , 3rd Baron Gray of Ratina , from her second marriage to Joan Astley , 5th Baroness Astley.

Biography

Not much is known about Edward. As a second son, Edward could not inherit his fatherly possessions. However, after the death of his mother in 1448, he inherited the title of Baron Astley. In addition, Edward successfully married - to Elizabeth Ferrers , who in 1445 after the death of her grandfather, William Ferrers , 5th Baron Ferrers from Grouby, inherited his possessions in Groby (county of Leicestershire ). On December 14, 1446, the English Parliament approved the title of Baron Ferrers of Grouby for Edward Gray.

Edward died on December 18, 1457, his eldest son John succeeded him. The widow of Edward survived her husband for a long time. In 1462, she remarried - to Sir John Bourtschier (d. 1495), the 4th son of Henry Bursier , 1st Earl of Essex .

Wife: Elizabeth Ferrers (1419 - January 1482/1483), 6th Baroness Ferrers of Grouby, daughter of Sir Henry Ferrers and Isabella Mowbray. Children:
