Foundation History
Aragorn , who became king of Gondor following the War of the Ring , was a direct heir to the kings of Arnor by birth and he ascended the throne as king of Arnor and Gondor, reuniting both of these states, politically divided after the death of Arnor for about a thousand years.
Having won the War of the Ring, Aragorn adopted the dynastic name Elessar and soon began to rebuild the northern kingdom of Arnor . Thus, the Reunited Kingdom was still divided into two parts, but now they were ruled by one reigning dynasty.
During the reign of Aragorn, the Reunited Kingdom substantially expanded its borders and began to include all the territories that had ever belonged to the ancient Arnor and Gondor during their heyday, excluding the independent Rohan .
Recent History
During the 1st century of the Fourth Age, the troops of the United Kingdom under the command of Elessar carried out a number of successful campaigns in the south and east. The southern part of Gondor (known as Harondor) was returned, dominance over the Wild Land was re-established in the east to the inner sea of Rune, and Umbar pirates who attacked Gondor for a long time, including during the War of the Ring, were defeated.
Umbar was originally a Numenorean port and an important stronghold of Gondor in the south, but in the Third Age came under the control of Sauron's minions. Elessar conquered the city, and the United Kingdom extended south along the coast from the mouth of the Anduin River to the ports of Umbara.
Most of Harad was conquered, the states that existed there became dependent on the Kingdom . Aragorn also entered into an alliance with the Kingdom of the Bardings and the Piedmont Kingdom of Erebor - these states were independent and had their own rulers.
In the east of Gondor, the Principality of Ithilien was formed, the first ruler of which was Faramir , the first governor of the king of the Reunited Kingdom. His residence was the castle on the hills of Emin Arnen, and the fortress of Minas Morgul was destroyed. In the north of the region, a small vassal principality of elves was created, headed by Legolas.
In the north, Aragorn also restored the old cities of Arnor - Annuminas and Fornost Erain , in Annuminas there was a northern capital. Eriador was actively inhabited by people, but the Shire was declared land under the auspices of the kingdom and is prohibited from visiting people.
