Red Deer ( Eng. Red Deer - Red Deer ) is a city in central Alberta ( Canada ) on the Red Deer River , thanks to which it got its name. Located between the cities of Calgary and Edmonton , and after them is the most populous city in the province. Red Deer Square is 69.23 kmΒ². According to the 2010 census, the population was 90,084 people [1] (approximately 1301.2 people per square kilometer). The motto of the city is Education, Industry and Progress ( Russian. Education, Industry and Progress ).

The founder and first mayor of the city was Leonard Gaetz (1841-1907) from the province of Nova Scotia . In his honor was named the main street of the city.
