Hendijan [1] ( Pers. هنديجان ) is a city in the south-west of Iran , in the ostan Khuzestan . The administrative center of Shahrestan is Hendijon . For 2006, the population was 25,100 people [2] .

Geography
The city is located in the southeast of Khuzestan, in the southeastern part of the Khuzestan plain , 15 kilometers from the coast of the Persian Gulf [4] . Hendijan is located approximately 145 kilometers southeast of Ahvaz , the administrative center of Ostan, and 610 kilometers south-west of Tehran , the capital of the country. The Zohra River flows through the city, which divides it into two parts: the northern and the southern, connected by several bridges.
Economy
In the vicinity of the city there is a large oil field of the same name [5] .
