Biography

The daughter of composer and pianist Marian Lipovshek ( 1910 - 1995 ), rector of the Ljubljana Academy of Music in 1968 - 1970 . She graduated from a piano school in her hometown. In 1970-1977, she studied vocal at the University of Music and Theater in Graz , and in 1978 at the Opera Studio in Vienna .

In 1979 she made her debut at the Vienna State Opera , since 1981 she sang at the Hamburg Opera House , at the Munich Opera. She performed on the largest opera stages in Germany, sang in theaters and festivals in Barcelona , Salzburg , Milan , Florence , London , Edinburgh , Prague , Chicago , New York , San Francisco .

The vocal parts of Lipovcek are used in the films Jacob the Liar ( 1999 ) and the Gray Zone ( 2001 ), she starred on television in the productions of the operas of Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss .

Lives in Vienna and Salzburg.

She sang in the operas of Monteverdi , Mozart , Wagner , Mussorgsky , Borodin , Verdi , Bizet , Berg , Bartok , Enescu , Tserkhi , Penderetsky and others, performed in concerts by Bach , Schubert , Schumann , Brahms , Wolf , Mahler , Schoenberg , Stravinsky .
