Abu Hamize ( Persian ابوحميظه ) is a small town in the south-west of Iran , in the province of Khuzestan . It is part of the shakhrestan Desht-e-Azadegan . As of 2006, the population was 5,247 people [1] .

Geography
The city is located in the west of Khuzestan, in the northwestern part of the Khuzestan plain , at an altitude of 18 meters above sea level [2] . Abu Hamise is located approximately 45 kilometers northwest of Ahwaz , the provincial capital, and 540 kilometers southwest of Tehran , the country's capital.
