On May 10, 2017, ABC officially closed the series after the sixth season [5] . A year after closing, May 11, 2018, Fox officially ordered the show’s seventh season. [6] On April 18, 2019, the series was extended for the eighth season [7] .
Synopsis
A family comedy in which women dominate in the life and career of the protagonist Mike Baxter from Denver, Colorado, namely his wife, Vanessa, and their three daughters. Mike is the marketing director of the large outdoor and sporting goods and tourism store. He is interested in politics and has a video blog in which he ironically comments on events in his life, in the country and in the world, not forgetting to advertise his store. Mike's daughters are growing and one after another they are trying to leave their home.

Production
On November 3, after the release of five episodes, the series was extended for a full season, consisting of 24 episodes [8] . On May 11, 2012, ABC extended the series for the second season [9] , which premiered on November 2, 2012 [10] . On May 10, 2013, the channel extended the series for the third season [11] , which started on September 20, 2013 [12] . On May 10, 2014, after lengthy and difficult negotiations with 20th Century Fox Television, ABC extended the series for the fourth season [13] . On May 10, 2015, the series was extended for the fifth season [14] , which started on September 25, 2015 [15] . On May 13, 2016, the series was extended to the sixth and final season, which started on September 23, 2016 [16] .
