Moscow Triumphal Gate - a monument of Empire architecture. They were built at the city outpost in 1834–1838 (architect — V. P. Stasov , sculptor — B. I. Orlovsky ) in memory of the victory in the Russian-Turkish war of 1828–29 . The guard booths were located at the sides and a bridge was thrown through the Ligovsky Canal that was passing in this place. Cast iron, with copper forged parts of the monument, 12-pillar gates in the form of a portico (height 24 m, width 36 m) of the Doric warrant symbolizes the power and glory of the Russian army. The theme of military triumph is emphasized by the sculptural compositions of military trophies; triglyphs of the frieze are replaced by 30 sculpted figures of the geniuses of the Victory with shields depicting the arms of the provinces of Russia. The station of the same name Moscow metro is also located here. A sculpture at the end wall is a copy of one of the decorations of the Moscow Triumphal Gate.
