Career
He started his hockey career at the MODO club (Ornskoldsvik). In the 1991 NHL Draft, he was selected in Round 1 under the overall 16th number by the Pittsburgh Penguins team. He made his debut in the NHL in the 1993/94 season . In 1996, he moved to Vancouver Canucks , where he spent 12 seasons, becoming the team captain in 2000 and setting 8 club records. In 2008, he signed a contract with the New York Rangers . In 2009, he announced his retirement [1] . However, in November of the same year he resumed his career by signing a contract with MODO until the end of the season, after which he completed his player’s career finally.
On December 12, 2010, Vancouver immortalized a sweater under the 19th number, in which Marcus Neslund spoke. [2]
Member of the World Championships 1993, 1996, 1999, 2002; World Cup draws 1996, 2004; The 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City as part of the Swedish national team .
From December 2010 to March 2014 he worked as the general manager of the MODO club [3] [4] .
