Bogdanov-Katkov, Nikolai Nikolaevich

Born on June 25, 1894 in Novorossiysk . He studied at the Physics and Mathematics Faculty of St. Petersburg University (after which, since 1913, he had been engaged in the systematics of black beetles under the guidance of Professor G. G. Jacobson and worked at the Zoological Museum of the Academy of Sciences ) and at the Department of Plant Production of the Kamennoostrovsky Agricultural Institute in St. Petersburg (he graduated in 1918 ) ^[1] .

• 1916-1923 - worked at the Kamennoostrovsky Agricultural Institute in Leningrad (temporarily headed the Department of Applied Zoology in 1917 and 1924)
• 1917-1923 - teacher of entomology at the Agronomy Institute
• 1918 - organized the Leningrad Plant Protection Station (was director for many years)
• 1919-1923 - Entomology Assistant at the Forest Institute
• 1920 and 1922 - taught entomology at the Petrograd Polytechnic
• 1920-1927 - headed the Detskoselsky Entomological Station and the Entomological Department of the North-West Regional Experimental Station
• 1920-19 .. - taught at the Higher Courses of Applied Zoology and Phytopathology
• 1921 - elected professor at the Goretsky Agricultural Institute and professor at the University of Nizhny Novgorod
• since 1922 - read applied entomology at the Leningrad Agricultural Institute , where in 1926 he was elected professor at the All-Union competition; Then he headed the Department of Plant Protection at the Peterhof Vegetable Institute and the same department at the Pushkin Agricultural Institute (Pushkin Agricultural Institute), as well as the Department of Agricultural Entomology at the Leningrad Agricultural Institute
• 1922-1948 - organizer and leader (rector, and then director) of the Leningrad Institute of Applied Zoology and Phytopathology (later the Higher Courses of Applied Zoology and Phytopathology, then the Institute of Zoology and Phytopathology (ISIF))
• 1924-1925 - headed the bias of applied entomology at Leningrad University
• 1934-1938 - was the first dean of the faculty of plant protection organized by him at the Leningrad Agricultural Institute
• Deputy Director for Science, All-Union Institute for Plant Protection, Head of its Forest Department
• 1945-1947 - rector of the Pushkin Agricultural Institute (during the Great Patriotic War, organized his evacuation to Altai)
• since 1947 - headed the plant protection section of the V. I. Lenin All-Union Academy of Agricultural Sciences ^[1]

He prepared 7 doctors and 44 candidates of sciences ^[1] .
