Knight Lore is a computer game in the genre of quest , developed and released by Ultimate Play The Game in 1984 . The game was the third in the Saberman series, after the games of Saber Wulf and Underwurlde . But, unlike the previous games in the series, Knight Lore used the “ Filmation ” engine, which imitates three-dimensionality using isometric projection .

Knight Lore became known as the first game in the genre of "isometric quest" and this approach was copied by many other developers [1] .
In 1984, the game received the Golden Joystick Awards in the nomination "Game of the Year" [2] .
Your Sinclair magazine ranked the game second in the list of the 50 best games of all time and called the game “one of the most important (and best) games ever written for Speccy” . for the Speccy ) [3] .
Content
Story
The man who was cast and became a werewolf travels to the castle to the dying wizard Cupronickel so that he helps to free himself from the spell. There are only 40 days and nights to find a potion that can destroy witchcraft, otherwise the hero will remain a werewolf forever.

Gameplay
The player again takes on the role of Sabreman; he must find the master Cupronickel and go around the whole castle in order to find the ingredients required for the potion. After the ingredients are collected, they must be delivered to Cupronickel and lowered into the waiting pot. If the mission is successfully completed within a 40-day period, then Sabreman receives an exemption from the curse of lycanthropy , which he received from Wolfe in the game Saber Wulf .
The werewolf curse itself plays an important role. Starting a game like Sabreman, the player periodically turns into a wolf, at the moment when the day turns into night (the transition shows an indicator of the movement of the sun and moon, in the lower right part of the screen). At the time of transformation (into a wolf or vice versa), Sabreman experiences a short fit (animated with a bit of humor) and is vulnerable to enemies and dangers. Some enemies (including Cupronickel cauldron) attack Sabreman as a werewolf, which attaches great importance to the choice of the moment the player performs the action.
