History
It arose as a suburban settlement of the city of Karachev, mentioned from the XIX century . Consisted in the parish of the cathedral church of the city of Karachev.
Since 1861, it entered the Dragoon parish of the Karachevsky district ; since 1925 as part of the Karachevsky volost , Karachevsky district (since 1929 ).
In 1919 - 1954 and in 1965 - 2005 . was the center of the Maltese Village Council; in 1954 - 1960 in the Odrinsky Village Council, in 1960 - 1965 - in the Novgorod.
