Biography
Before taking up singing under the guidance of Margaret Hayward, Emma Kirkby and Evelyn Tabb , she studied piano and double bass. It is considered one of the leading performers of ancient music at the international level. She specializes in baroque and classical music. She has performed in Europe and the USA. She worked with such musicians and conductors as Nikolaus Arnoncourt , Ton Copman , Anner Bilsma , Jordi Savall , Andrew Parrot , Alan Curtis , Fabio Biondi . In 1999 she was invited by Gustav Leonhardt to the founding concert of the New York Collegium American ensemble of authenticists .
Since 1997 he has been teaching vocals at the Center for Early Music in Naples [2] . Among her students is the famous singer Robert Mameli .
In 2003 she made her debut at the Salzburg Festival .
Repertoire
The singer’s repertoire includes operas and cantatas of Purcell , Monteverdi , Alessandro Scarlatti , Vivaldi , Paisiello , Stradella , Porpora , Buxtehude , Handel , Bach , Haydn , Mozart .
Recognition
Winner of numerous awards. The Handel cantata she recorded was awarded the 2007 Stanley Sadie Prize for the best performance of Handel music of the year.
