St. Paul's Cathedral is a Catholic church located in Saskatoon , Saskatchewan , Canada . The church is the cathedral of the diocese of Saskatoon .

History

The cornerstone of the temple was laid by Canadian Prime Minister Wilfried Laurier on July 25, 1910 . In 1911, the construction of the church was completed, which was consecrated by the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of St. Boniface Louis-Philip Langevin . In 1912, bells were installed and an organ was acquired. Originally, St. Paul's Church was a parish church. Since 1921, the Church of St. Paul became the pro-cathedral of the Archdiocese of St. Boniface. Since 1934, when the Diocese of Saskatoon was established by the Holy See , the church became the cathedral of this diocese.

In 1945, stained glass windows were installed in the church in memory of parishioners who died during the Second World War .

In 1976, the church was slightly affected by the fire, after which the stained-glass windows were updated.
