The source of Zelenovatka is located in a forest 10 km east of the village of Zaychiki ( Roslyatinsky rural settlement ). The river flows southwest, the largest tributary of the Great Zelenovatka flows into the Zelenovatka on the right a kilometer above the mouth of the Zelenovatka in Cormanga. The entire course of the river runs through an uninhabited forest.

According to the state water register of Russia, it belongs to the Verkhnevolzhsky Basin District , the water sector of the river is Unzha from the source to the mouth, the river sub-basin is the Volga tributaries basin below the Rybinsk Reservoir before the Oka River inlet.
