Zolotoztruika - a river in Russia , flows through the Ivanovo region . The mouth of the river is located 14 km on the right bank of the river Smerdyag . The source is lost in small lakes, 1 km west of Lake Rubskoye . The length of the river is 13 km, the catchment area is 89.9 km² [2] .

On the river is the only Orthodox monastery Zolotnikovsky desert . There are no other settlements near the river.

Title

According to the legend of local residents, Catherine II gave this name to the river, which once drove past these places along the State Road. She wanted to drink water, stopped near the river, according to some information, Zmeyanka, according to others, Smerdyanka and even dropped a ring in the river, but the water was clear and Catherine, having drunk water, saw the ring and was amazed: "What kind of water is transparent, just golden." Since then, they called the river Zolotoztruykoy, a village called the Desert, began to be called Zolotnikovsky Desert, and the road from the State was renamed Yekaterinovka [3] .
