Harri Hermanni Holkeri ( Finnish. Harri Hermanni Holkeri ; January 6, 1937 , Oripyaya - August 7, 2011 , Helsinki [2] ) - Finnish politician, Prime Minister of Finland (1987-1991), chairman of the UN General Assembly (2000-2001), Head of UNMIK , Chairman of the Finnish National Coalition Party (1971-1979).

Biography
Born in the Finnish-Swedish family of Antti Holkeri and Maira Algren in the municipality of Oripyaya . Soon the family moved to the city of Toyala , where Holkeri was educated and became an activist of the scout movement.
He graduated from the political science department of the University of Helsinki . In 1970, Holkeri was elected to the Finnish Parliament.
He ran for president of Finland twice - in 1982 and 1988 .
He made a great contribution to international peacekeeping. In particular, he was the author of the Northern Ireland Peace Plan in the late 1990s [3] . Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain awarded him the Knightly Order of the British Empire .
President of the UN General Assembly September 5, 2000 - June 27, 2001.
In 2003, he led the UN administration in Kosovo .
He died after a long illness on August 7, 2011 [2] . He was buried on August 27 after the requiem in the Helsinki Cathedral [3] .
Personal life
In 1960, Holkeri married Marie-Liisa Lepistö ( Fin. Marja-Liisa Lepistö ), they had two children - Jukka ( Jukka , born 1962) and Katya ( Katju , born 1964).
