Buda-Koshelevo ( Belor. Buda-Kashalyova ) is a city in the Gomel region of Belarus , the administrative center of the Buda-Koshelevsky district .

Geography

Located 48 km northwest of Gomel , 256 km southeast of Minsk .

Buda-Koshelevskaya is a railway station on the Gomel- Zhlobin line. The city has a cheese making and bread factory. The Buda-Koshelevsky agrarian and technical college is located.

History

According to written sources, it has been known since 1824 as the village of Buda, as part of the state estate, in the Koshelevsky volost of the Rogachev district of the Mogilev province . The restaurant acted. In the second half of the 19th century, the name acquired a modern sound, but by now, most of the residents of the region use the old name - Buda. At the end of the XIX century, the population of the town was about 500 inhabitants.

In 1938, Buda-Koshelevo received the official status of an urban village, and in 1971 - the status of a city.

In 2017, 109 people were born in Buda-Koshelevo and 87 died. The birth rate is 12.7 per 1000 people (the average in the district is 12.4, in the Gomel region - 11.3, in the Republic of Belarus - 10.8), the mortality rate is 10.2 per 1000 people (the average in the district - 18.7, in the Gomel region - 13, in the Republic of Belarus - 12.6) [17] .

Education

The city has a gymnasium, as well as a secondary, sports and music school.

The Buda-Koshelevsky Agrarian and Technical College (former College of Agricultural Mechanization) operates. The college prepares electrification and automation, mechanization of agriculture and technologists in the specialties

Culture

The museum-gallery named after E. E. Moiseenko and the Museum of Local Lore of the Buda-Koshelevsky District
