Biography

Early years

Lynn Maria Frederick was born July 25, 1954 in Hillingdon ( Middlesex , England , UK ) in the family of Andrew and Iris Frederick. Soon after the birth of the daughter, the couple Frederick broke up, and her father disappeared. The girl was brought up by her mother Iris and grandmother Cecilia.

Lynn attended Notting Hill & Ealing High School in a private school for girls and was going to become a teacher of mathematics and physics [1] , but later dropped out of school to start her career as an actress. Iris was unhappy with her daughter's decision, but supported her in everything.

Career

Lynn began acting in films in 1970 , the debut work in the movie was the role of Mary Castans in the film " There is no blade of grass ".

In 1979, she played the role of Princess Flavia in the film “ Prisoner of Zenda ", After which she ended her career as an actress, playing at that time in 30 films and series.

In 1980, the former actress produced the film “The Devilish Conspiracy of Dr. Fu Manchu "And finally completed any activity in the cinema.

Personal life

Lynn was married three times, had one child [2] .

  • The first husband is Peter Sellers (1925-1980), an actor. They were married in 1977-1980. The marriage ended July 24, 1980 with the death of 54-year-old Sellers from a heart attack .
  • The second husband is David Frost (1939–2013), a journalist. They were married in 1981-1982.
  • The third spouse is Barry Anger, a surgeon and heart specialist. They were married in 1982-1991. In this marriage, Lynn gave birth to her only child - daughter Cassie Anger (born 1984).

Death

In July 1980 , after the first husband Lynn passed away, she began to have mental problems . Her psychological condition worsened after the next two divorces.

Lynn for many years suffered from alcoholism and drug addiction , which greatly worsened her health in the last years of her life. She died at the age of 39 on April 27, 1994 . There were rumors that she committed suicide , but this was not confirmed by reliable sources [3] . The autopsy did not reveal the cause of Lynn's death [4] . Three weeks before the death of Victoria Sellers , the former stepdaughter of the actress, met with her at her house and later told about this meeting: “I was so shocked. Lynn was sitting in her kitchen, dressed in a dirty caftan. She could barely move. She sipped vodka straight from the jug ” [5] .

Lynn Frederick was cremated at the Golders Green Crematorium in London and buried in the same grave with her first husband Peter Sellers .
