The source is located in the Svetitsky swamp, 7 km west of the Ilezka station and 57 km north-east of the village named after Babushkin . The largest tributaries are Kobylia and Talka (both are left). The river flows through swampy, wooded and uninhabited areas, the general direction of the current - first to the south, after the inflow of the Mare - to the west.
