The length of the river is 38 km [2] . The source is located on the southeastern edge of the Kharovskoy ridge in the Sokolsky district , in the Bibishka forest swamp, 9 km north-east of the village of Biryakovo [3] . The current flows mainly from north to south along the Prisukhonsky lowland in a boggy forest area. The mouth part is located in the Mezhdurechensk district . It falls into Sukhona on the left bank 1.5 km above the village of Pigeons (382 km from the mouth).
In the upper reaches of the basin (on the watershed with the Strelitsa basin) there are small villages Zabolot'e , Alekseevo , Bryukhovo , Prokshino , Timoninskoe and several villages without population (all - the rural settlement of Biryakovskoe ). Near the settlements the river crosses the highway " M8 - Great Ustyug ".

According to the state water register of Russia, it belongs to the Dvinsko-Pechora basin district , the water management section of the river is Northern Dvina from the beginning of the river to the confluence of the Vychegda river, without the South and Sukhona rivers (from the source to the Kubensky hydroelectric complex ), the river sub basin of the river Sukhona. The river basin is the Northern Dvina [2] .
