Chertalyk - a river in Russia , flows in the Orenburg region (a small section - along the border with the Samara region). It flows into the Borovka river. The length of Chertalyk is 26 km [2] . The name is translated from Turkic languages (there are correspondences in the Tatar, Bashkir languages) as "Shchuchye" [3] .

According to the Russian State Water Register , Chertalyk belongs to the Lower Volga Basin District . The water sector of the river is Samara from the water meter post at the village of Elshanka to the city of Samara (above the city), without the Bolshoy Kinel River . Chertalyk does not have a river sub-basin, and its river basin is the Volga from the upper Kuibyshev reservoir to the confluence with the Caspian [2] .
