Biography
Elizabeth Dorothea is the youngest daughter of the Landgrave Ludwig VI of Hesse-Darmstadt and his wife Elizabeth , daughter of Saxe-Goth-Altenburg Ernst I the Pious .
In February 1700, in Butzbach, Elizabeth Dorothea married Frederick III Jacob of Hesse-Homburg . Elizabeth Dorothea was considered a smart woman, she was engaged in literary activities, in addition to German, she also knew Latin, French, Italian and Greek. She brought up her children herself.
