History

The lands of the region became part of the Russian Empire at the beginning of the 18th century; before that, the region was under the rule of the Golden Horde, and the field of its collapse was controlled by the Nogai Horde.

Before the revolution, the district belonged to the Samara district. [five]

The Volga region was formed on December 18, 1930, as part of the Middle Volga region. By the decision of the Kuybyshev regional council of February 12, 1963, the district was abolished, but on January 9, 1967 it was re-established.
