The Privolzhsky District is an administrative-territorial unit ( district ) and a municipality ( municipal district ) in the south-west of the Samara region of Russia . [2] bordered by the Ulyanovsk and Saratov regions.

The administrative center is the village of Volga region , located 150 kilometers from Samara. [3]
Content
Geography
Area area - 1379.3 km ². The district borders in the north and east with Bezenchuksky and Khvorostyansky districts of the Samara region, in the south - with the Saratov region . The main rivers are the Volga and Chagra .
The area is located on the left bank of the Saratov reservoir, forest plantations are minimal, mostly it is a steppe zone. The relief of the region is a wavy plain, terminated by low steep slopes on the coast of the reservoir. The few forests concentrated along the banks of the Volga are protected areas. [four]
History
The lands of the region became part of the Russian Empire at the beginning of the 18th century; before that, the region was under the rule of the Golden Horde, and the field of its collapse was controlled by the Nogai Horde.
Before the revolution, the district belonged to the Samara district. [five]
The Volga region was formed on December 18, 1930, as part of the Middle Volga region. By the decision of the Kuybyshev regional council of February 12, 1963, the district was abolished, but on January 9, 1967 it was re-established.
The first mention of the village of Volga region occurs in 1785 as the village of Vasilievsky.

The main activity is agriculture : of the 395 surveyed entities of all sectors of the economy, 142 enterprises (36% of the total) are agricultural, 73 enterprises (18.9% of the total) are trade and public catering, 35 enterprises (8.6 % of the total) - industrial. Enterprises belonging to private property - 255.

The Privolzhsky Central District Hospital is located in the Privolzhsky District of the Samara Region [21] , the head physician is Paramonova Nina Gennadyevna.
Attractions
The most important attraction of the Volga region is the estate of the Samarins , located on the banks of the Volga. [22] In 2008, it was decided to restore and reconstruct this historic complex. [23]
