The Big Purga is a river in Russia , it flows in the Sosnogorsky District of the Komi Republic . The mouth of the river is located 84 km on the left bank of the Velho River. The length of the river is 11 km.

The source of the river in the marshes 26 km northeast of the village of Konashёl . The river in the upper course flows to the south-west, then turns to the south, the whole course passes through the marshy taiga forest. It falls into Velja above the boundary of the Big Meadow [2] .
