Style, Critic Reviews
In the opinion of music critic Stuart Mason, the album as a whole is one of the “highest points” of the collective’s creative development, but at the same time the songs presented on it have several significant drawbacks: in particular, they are not deep enough and bear a clear imprint of the influence of such groups as Depeche Mode , Xmal Deutschland , Bauhaus and Siouxsie and the Banshees [1] . Mason found the track Michelle a particularly successful one [1] .
In turn, the critic Said Sukkarye called the album Medusa "one of the most important works in the darkwave genre of all time" [2] .
Reviewers of the Trouser Press magazine gave a low rating, calling it “dull” and unoriginal, and of all the songs from the album, they positively assessed only “Michelle” [3] .
