The early years

Susan Ball was born on February 3, 1934 in Jamestown ( New York , USA ). In 1941, the Susan family moved to Hollywood . She was the second cousin of actress Lucille Ball (1911-1989).

Career

In 1948-1953, Susan sang in the orchestra with Mel Baker.

In 1952, Susan began acting in films and in her first year of work starred in 4 films: “Aladdin and His Lamp”, “The World in His Hands ”,“ Unconquered Frontier ”and“ American Pirate ”. The last time she appeared in the movie in 1955 in the film "The main crazy horse ". In just 3 years of her acting career, Ball starred in 9 films.

Personal life, health problems, and death

In 1952, on the set of the movie “The Unconquered Frontier,” Susan began an affair with actor Scott Brady (1924-1985), they planned to get married, but soon broke up.

In 1953, on the set of the film “ East of Sumatra »She began an affair with married actor Anthony Quinn (1915-2001), but after a year of relationship they broke up.

In the same 1953, on the set of the film “ Military Arrow Susan received a serious leg injury and a tumor formed in her. At the same time, she slipped at home on spilled water and broke her leg. The actress underwent an unsuccessful operation, as a result, her leg had to be amputated.

In December 1953, Susan engaged to actor Richard Long (1927-1974), and on April 4, 1954, they married in Santa Barbara . The wedding was attended by such celebrities as: Rock Hudson , Tony Curtis , Janet Lee and others.

In July 1954, after losing consciousness, Susan was urgently hospitalized. In the hospital, she was diagnosed with lung cancer . On August 5, 1955, cancer was defeated - the 21-year-old actress was gone. She was buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery .
