Biography
Born on March 1 ( 12 ), 1765 in the village of Perelogy, Suzdal Uyezd, Vladimir Province. His father, Ivan Ivanovich (later Joachim, hieromonk of the Moscow Novospassky Monastery ), was a priest.
Timofei Perelogov first studied at the Suzdal Theological Seminary, where he was given, according to the custom of that time, his last name, and then at Vladimir Seminary after joining her Suzdal. In 1782, he entered Moscow University as a result of an invitation with which the university authorities addressed the best of the seminarians. During his student years, Perelogov paid special attention to the study of the French language, which university students visited by order of their superiors. Lessons were given by a university gymnasium teacher, J. Baudouin , who later became an extraordinary professor at the university. The practical mastering of the language took place in the family of another teacher of the same language, Deschan, in which Perelogov specially lived for some time for this purpose. He also worked intensively in the study of the English language, taught at the university until the end of 1784 by Professor Desnitsky , and after that by lecturer John Beli.
After graduating from the university, in 1784, T. I. Perelogov taught mathematics at the university hostel , and in 1801-1812 he additionally taught English and French, both at the hostel and at the university. In 1807, he was appointed inspector of students at a university gymnasium .
In September 1812, fleeing the French, he left Moscow for Nizhny Novgorod. Upon his return to Moscow, in 1813 he occupied the department of mathematics at Moscow University and began to give lectures there on pure mathematics with the rank of adjunct. The title of extraordinary professor of pure mathematics Perelogov received in 1814, and ordinary - in 1820. In 1825, after 25 years of service, he retired with the rank of college adviser and the Order of St. Vladimir of the 4th degree. But until 1839 he remained a teacher of mathematics and the French language in the Moscow educational house .
Perelogov was known for his accuracy, piety, and impeccable honesty. Of his literary works were very widespread, and even after his death, the grammar and anthology of French and English.
The father-in-law was mathematician N.E. Zernov .
