Football career
He began his professional career as a football player in Onozhets Petrozavodsk in 1965. Subsequently, he played for the Ulyanovsk “Volga” , the Khabarovsk SKA . In 1970, he was invited to CSKA Moscow, where he played for the double, and also spent 4 matches for the first team that won gold medals that year. In 1971 he returned to Petrozavodsk , where he continued his performances for his native team, by then renamed Spartak. In 1973, after the disbandment of Spartak, he played for the Murmansk North .
Brother
Brother - Victor Ivanovich Potashev (b. 1946), defender. Like Boris, he began his career in 1965 at Onegz, where he played until he was broken up in 1972, and in 1973 he moved to Sever (Murmansk). Also called for friendly matches of the national team of the RSFSR. Since 1990, he has been the head coach of FC Avtokolonna 1126 (now Energogarant) from Petrozavodsk [1] .
Coaching
All his life, with the exception of his football career, Boris and Victor worked at the Petrozavodsk motor transport enterprise Avtokolonna 1126. In 1989 [4] FC Avtokolonna 1126 was formed, in which Victor was invited by the head coach, and Boris helped him in his work [1] . The club is a multiple champion of Karelia and Petrozavodsk, a multiple holder of the Karelia Cup [4] .
