Career

In 1999, the scouts of “ Munich 1860 ” came to the player, and he moved to their academy, where he graduated in 2009, moving first to the second and then to the main team of the club. In the 2007/2008 season he became the top scorer of the Junior Bundesliga with 11 goals scored.

In the second team, Mlapa made his debut on September 12, 2008 in the home match of the 4th round of the Southern Regional League against Heidenheim , which ended in a major defeat with a score of 0: 3. Peniel appeared on the field in the 73rd minute, replacing Florian Jungwirth [2] .

At the end of the 2008/09 season, Peniel was called up to the 1860 Munich main team, which performed in the Second Bundesliga . In the debut season, Peniel immediately became a base player, having spent 30 games and scoring 4 goals.

September 30, 2010 there was information that Tottenham Hotspur wants to buy a player through the winter transfer window . Peniel said in an interview that he was not opposed to the transition, but the deal did not take place. In May 2012, it was announced that Mlapa signed a four-year contract with Borussia from Monchengladbach , the transfer amount was € 3 million [8] .

In July 2014, Mlapa went on a one-year lease to Nuremberg [9] .

After the lease term and the contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach expired, Mlapa transferred to Bochum on August 7, 2015. Peniel spent the first match for his new team on August 23 of the same year in a match against his previous club, Nuremberg. In June 2018, it was leased to the Dutch club VVV-Venlo [10] .

Team Career

He played in the youth and youth teams of Germany. Mlapa was invited to the Togo team on November 14, 2009 for a match against the national team of Gabon , but refused. On June 4, 2017, Mlapa made his debut as a member of the Togo national team , playing in a friendly match with the Comor team .
