The 42nd meridian of west longitude is the line of longitude , which is 42 degrees west of the Greenwich meridian , passing from the North Pole through the Arctic Ocean , Greenland , the Atlantic Ocean , Brazil , the Southern Ocean to the South Pole and forming an orthodrome with the 138th meridian of the East longitude .
