Biography
He came from a noble family [1] . He had the title of Clarissima [2] .
Appointed to the post vice sacra iudicans [3] [4]
He was prefect of Rome between June 474 and August 475 . The famous poet Gaius Sollius Apollinarius Sidonius in a letter to Avdax congratulated him on his election to the post of Prefect of Rome [5] .
While in the post of prefect, he was engaged in restoration work, after the damage caused by the barbaric invasion, as indicated by the inscription: " barbarica incursione sublata restituit " [4] . Giovanni Battista de Rossi [6] believes that the barbarian invasion refers to the capture of Rome by the vandals led by Geiserich , and the restored Avdax - pagan statues.
