Bolshoy Vittolovo ( fin. Suuri-Viittala ) is a disbanded village in the territory of the Villozsky rural settlement of the Lomonosov district of the Leningrad Region .

Location

The village was located north-west of the city of Pushkin , west of the Kiev highway , between Krasnoselsky and Volkhonsky highways [1] .

History

Indicated as Wittala on the map of Bergenheim topographer, compiled from the Swedish archives dated 1676 [2] .

In the 18th century, after the construction of the imperial residence in Tsarskoye Selo, the village of Wittolovo became famous for its springs, which fed the Great Pond of the Catherine Palace [3] .

In honor of the village of Wittolovo , the Wittolovsky Canal (1749) coming from the springs and the Wittolovsky Pond were named after the springs [4] . Subsequently, the administrative part of the Lomonosov district of the Leningrad region [5] .

On the "Topographic Map of the Neighborhood of St. Petersburg" by F. F. Schubert in 1831, the following are mentioned: the village of Big Vittolovo from 50 yards , Maloye Vittolovo from 22 and Vittolovo or Latul from 1 yard [6] .

BIG VITTOLOVO - the village belongs to the department of the Krasnoselskaya specific office, the number of inhabitants according to audit: 129 meters, 154. Clause (1838) [7]

In the explanatory text to the ethnographic map of the St. Petersburg province of P. I. Köppen in 1849, it is recorded as a village of Suuri Wittala ( Bolshoe Vittolovo ) and the number of its inhabitants for 1848 is indicated: Ingrian - Sawakot - 132 meters, 152. p., total 282 people, ingermanlanders- evremeisov - 73 m. p., 93 w. p., a total of 166 people [8] .

VITTOLOVO BIG - the village of Krasnoselsky specific estate by post, the number of households is 49, the number of souls is 139 (1856) [9]


BIG VITTOLOVO - the village is specific with a pond and a well, the number of households is 49, the number of inhabitants: 154 m. P., 110 w. Clause (1862) [10]

In 1885 the village numbered 61 courtyards.

The village was listed in the 3rd camp of Tsarskoye Selo district, St. Petersburg province.

By 1913, the number of courtyards increased to 84 [11] .

During the war, Wittolovo was captured by German troops and turned into a fortified area .

During the offensive of the Red Army on January 16, 1944, it was released by a platoon of Lieutenant Golikov [12] and eventually disappeared.
