Foshnia (historical version - Hvoshchnya, Hvoshchna ) - a village in the Zhukovsky district of the Bryansk region , as part of the Khodilovichi rural settlement .

History
It was first mentioned in 1503 as the center of the Hvoshchensky (Foshnyansky) volost in the Bryansk district , which remained until 1925 (intermittently). The parish of the village is mentioned from the XVII century ; The last temple building was built in 1907 (not preserved). The former possession of the Apukhtins , Brusilovs , later also the Pohvisnevs , Maltzovs and other landowners.
In the XVIII - XIX centuries. It was a major center of fair trade. At the same time sawmills arise (later a sawmill, which was part of the Maltsov industrial district). In 1889 a parish school was opened, and in 1896 a second-class school was also opened. Since the end of the 19th century , the zemstvo clinic worked, one of the first in the county.
In 1925 - 1929 - in the Zhukovsky volost (one of the largest villages), since 1929 in the Zhukovsky district . Until 1960, it was the center of the Foshniansky village council; in 1960 - 1968 in the Sakovsky village council.
It is currently a small, endangered village.
