Biography
He graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University (1957 [1] —1971 [2] ).
He worked in the newspapers of Kazakhstan , then for many years he was a special correspondent for Komsomolskaya Pravda . Member of the CPSU since 1971.
He was a commentator for the Novosti Press Agency (APN), executive secretary of the New World magazine (he was in charge of the journalism department, 1986).
Strelny - one of the famous members of the organization " April " (All-Union Association of Writers in Support of Perestroika). In October 1990, he signed the Roman appeal.
As an expert, he participated in the television project “ The Days of 1961-1991: Our Era ”.
He worked on Radio Liberty from 1995 to 2019. He led the program "Russia Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow", then - the program "Your Letters". [3]

He supported the declaration of independence of Ukraine in 1991 and the end of the “Russification policy” [4] . He was a supporter of Boris Yeltsin and supported his re-election in 1996 [5] .
