The 479th Special Purpose Border Detachment (abbr. 479 UNPO or Pogon UNO) is a unit of border troops that existed from October 26, 1994 to May 1998, military unit 3807, Kaliningrad group of the Federal Border Guard Service of the Russian Federation. Based at: Kaliningrad region ., Neman district, pos. Forest .
Command
- The detachment commander was Lt. Col. Gilmanov from October 1994 to March 1995.
- The squad leader is Colonel Spiridenok.V.P. from March 1995 to May 1998.

Tasks
The soldiers of the detachment were sent to the Battle Internship where they performed combat missions to protect and defend the border
with the Chechen Republic:
- 1995 the Republic of Dagestan 1 MMG and 2 MMG (in the area of Botlikh, Harami Pass,)
- 1996 Republic of Ingushetia 3 MMG (in the Bamut region),
Republic of Tajikistan :
- 1997 , a reserve outpost on the Tajik-Afghan border (on the site of the Khorog, Kalai-Khumb and Pyanj detachments).
During a business trip while performing combat missions in 1995, ordinary soldiers died in Dagestan: V. Troshkin

Memory, rewards
The soldiers of the detachment were awarded orders and medals (including posthumous) for the performance of combat missions. In the city of Neman, Kaliningrad Region, a monument was erected to 479 UNP soldiers who died in the North Caucasus. August 2 is the day of memory of the dead soldiers of the detachment.
