Coddle ( Dublin Coddle ) ( irl. Cadal (Cadal Bhaile Átha Cliath) , Eng. Coddle (Dublin coddle) ) is a traditional Irish dish. The main ingredients of this dish are pork sausages , thinly sliced bacon , potatoes and onions . According to the old tradition, koddl is sometimes cooked with barley , carrots , and turnip . To cook this dish, first sausages and bacon are cooked. Boiled sausages with bacon and vegetables (potatoes, onions) are layered in a shallow pot, covered with broth and stewed until vegetables are ready. Of the seasonings, only salt and pepper are used for this dish, but sometimes some fresh parsley is added.
