The Beccary shrew (1) , or the beak-billed shrew [2] ( lat. Crocidura beccarii ) is a species of mammal of the genus Shrew Tiger family. The specific epithet is given in honor of the Italian botanist Odoardo Beccari (1843–1920) [3] .

Endemic of Sumatra ( Indonesia ). It is found in the mountainous and piedmont tropical forests in the north and west of the island, including the mountains of Mount Singalang . [4] Found at altitudes from 1,800 to 2,200 m. Included in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Animals . [five]
