The Beccary shrew ⁽¹⁾ , or the beak-billed shrew ^[2] ( lat. Crocidura beccarii ) is a species of mammal of the genus Shrew Tiger family. The specific epithet is given in honor of the Italian botanist Odoardo Beccari (1843–1920) ^[3] .

Endemic of Sumatra ( Indonesia ). It is found in the mountainous and piedmont tropical forests in the north and west of the island, including the mountains of Mount Singalang . ^[4] Found at altitudes from 1,800 to 2,200 m. Included in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Animals . ^[five]

Karyotype 2n = 38, FN = 56 (Ruedi and Vogel, 1995). ^[6]
