Description

The sizes of fruiting bodies vary greatly - the fruiting bodies of some species are quite large, and some mushrooms are not visible to the naked eye.

Most representatives of the order are keratinophilic saprotrophs . Some are coprotrophs.

Some fungi in the order cause various mammalian diseases, for example, histoplasmosis and coccidioidomycosis .

Taxonomy

The closest relatives of onigenic ones are included in the eurocium order.
