Biography
Born in 1911 [1] in the village of Anuyskoye , now Smolensk District of the Altai Territory, in a peasant family. Russian .
He graduated from primary school. He worked on the farm .
In the Red Army in 1933-1935 and since August 1941 . Member of the CPSU (b) / CPSU since 1943 .
Corporal Stepan Korobov distinguished himself in January-February 1945 during the breakthrough of the Nazi defense in East Prussia . The fire from a machine gun destroyed the enemy infantry, suppressed the firing points, bravely and resourcefully acted in critical situations.
After the war he was demobilized. Since 1953, he worked at the mine in the village Temirtau of the Tashtagol City Council of the Kemerovo Region. He lived in Novokuznetsk .
He died on December 12, 1965 .
Awards
- The title of Hero of the Soviet Union was awarded on April 19, 1945 (award No. 6160) [2] .
- Awarded the Order of Lenin and medals.
Memory
- The name of the Hero is immortalized at the Memorial of Glory in the city of Barnaul .
- Korobov S. Ya. Is included in the Encyclopedia of the Altai Territory.
- The monument to the Hero in 1992 was installed in the village of Anuyskoe [3] .
