Biography
Elizabeth is the daughter of Duke Heinrich Julius Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttelsky and his second wife Elizabeth of Denmark , the eldest daughter of King Danish King Frederick II .
For the first time, Elizabeth married on January 1, 1612, in Dresden, the Duke of August Saxony , ruler of the Naumburg bishopric , who suddenly died after three years of marriage at the age of 26. The wedding with the second husband, Duke Johann Philip of Saxe-Altenburg, took place on October 25, 1618. Elizabeth was buried in the fraternal church in Altenburg.
Descendants
In the second marriage, Elizabeth had a daughter:
- Elizabeth Sofia (1619-1680), married to the Duke Ernst of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg (1601-1675)
