South Section
Also known as Quebec Road 105. It runs from Quebec Road 117 from Grand-Remou (Grand-Remous) north of Manivoca .
Two campuses of the University of Quebec in Ottawa are located south of the intersection with Alexander Tache Boulevard , almost on the banks of the r. Ottawa. It is planned to build several more buildings in the same place in the future. Previously, it was also planned to carry out a branch of the Ottawa light metro to these places through the old Prince of Wales railway bridge , but at the moment these plans were abandoned, and the railway tracks along the boulevard to the bridge are abandoned and are not used, as is the bridge itself.
At the southernmost tip of the boulevard is the arsenal of Salaberri , which housed the Hallas militia regiment. Nearby there are 2 tanks and an armored vehicle, in connection with which this area is also called “Tank Park”, fr. Parc des Chars de Combat . Further north to the Rue Saint-Jean-Bosco, on the eastern side of the boulevard, is a large park with a football field. On the other side of the southern section there are numerous small shops and cafes, the number of which, however, has decreased in recent years as the commercial area in downtown Gatineau has developed.
On the southern part of the boulevard there are two circular intersections : one - with Rue de Montcalm, and the second - with the boulevard des Allemettier (previously Boulevard Saint-Laurent), from where car traffic goes towards Elmer - the eastern sector of Gatineau.
Center plot
Starting from the intersection with Talon Street and further north along the boulevard there are numerous large shopping centers interspersed with high-rise residential buildings.
The intersection of Saint-Joseph and Saint-Raymond boulevards is known for the most frequent traffic jams in Gatineau during rush hours during the day and on weekends caused by traffic in the direction of Elmer, Ottawa and Gatineau sector through the Quebec motorway 5.
Northern Section
North of the boulevard junction with Highway 5, the boulevard is known under the unofficial name “Automotive Boulevard”, Boulevard de l'Automobile , as there are numerous auto dealers' shops and workshops in this section and Chelsea - in particular, GM , Ford , Daimler Chrysler , Honda , Toyota , Suzuki , Subaru , Nissan , Hyundai and Nissan , as well as car auction Mega Auto . Every spring, part of the road is closed to motor traffic on one Sunday, on which a large sale of cars and car accessories takes place. In the same part is the southern terminal of the Hull-Chelsea-Wakefield locomotive railway , a popular tourist attraction of Quebec Ottawa .
