History
On July 5, 1996, Pope John Paul II issued the bull Laudamus Dominum , which established the apostolic vicariate of Bauchi, selecting him from the archdiocese of Jos.
On December 12, 2003, Pope John Paul II issued the Actuosae evangelizationis bull, which transformed the apostolic vicariate of Bauchi into a diocese.
