Getvand [1] ( pers. گتوند ) - a city in the south-west of Iran , in the Khuzestan ostan , on the right bank of the Karun river. The administrative center of the shahrestan Gotvend . As of 2006, the population was 21,428 people [2] .

Geography
The city is located in the north of Khuzestan, in the northern part of the Khuzestan plain , at an altitude of 67 meters above sea level [3] . Götvend is located approximately 100 kilometers north of Ahwaz , the administrative center of Ostan and 440 kilometers south-west of Tehran , the country's capital.
