History
On September 26, 1968, the Holy See established the Apostolic Prefecture of Ida, separating it from the Diocese of Lokoji .
On December 17, 1977, Pope Paul VI issued the Bull Nobis quam maxime , with which he transformed the apostolic prefecture of Ida into a diocese.
