History
The channel began broadcasting on January 5 [1] 2004 [2] [3] . Initially, the channel did not have a rigidly structured broadcasting network [4] - only live sports broadcasts [5] were broadcast, mainly those that could not be placed on the broadcast networks of the two existing channels “ Sport ” and “ Football ”. Also, live broadcasts with indefinite timekeeping were often put on the channel [6] . During the break of the broadcast, an info screen was shown where the latest sports news and results were shown, as well as the announcements of the nearest live broadcasts [7] . At the stage of launching the channel, the name "NTV-Plus Sport Extra" was considered, but over time they stopped at the name "NTV-Plus Sport Online" [4] .
From August 14 to 29, 2004, in connection with the Summer Olympic Games in Athens , NBA TV was broadcast on the NTV-Plus Sport Online channel from 3:00 to 9:55 on a temporary basis. This circumstance was caused by the fact that the NTV-Plus Football broadcast, on the frequency of which this channel was usually turned on, was filled in the same hours with broadcasts for the sport profile for the channel, which did not get into the evening broadcast due to the Olympic broadcast grid loading broadcasting [8] [9] . Broadcasting NTV-Plus Sport Online was conducted without interruptions and consisted solely of broadcasts from the same games. Since August 30, 2004, NBA TV began to turn on again on NTV-Plus Football [10] .
In the fall of 2007, the channel changed its format, but the name remained the same. The channel switched to 24-hour broadcasting, and thus the channel format became closer to the broadcasting network of the NTV-Plus Sport channel [11] . There were also 45-minute blocks of sports news (“Sports morning, day and evening”), which ceased to exist in 2011.
On January 5, 2015, the channel stopped broadcasting (on the NTV-Plus platform, the channel was expelled on January 1 of the same year). [12] In addition, this channel was not officially included in the list of NTV-Plus channels that are allowed to be broadcast on digital pay-TV networks. [13]
