Biography
Born in 1777. Military service began a non-commissioned officer on November 9, 1795 in the Life Guards Preobrazhensky regiment . October 26, 1798 transferred to the Pavlovsky Grenadier Regiment and two days later received the rank of ensign . On July 20, 1799, he was promoted to lieutenant and from August 8 he was in the airborne corps operating in Holland , and was in a battle with the French near Bergen .
September 29, 1802 promoted to lieutenant . On August 14, 1803, he was transferred to the Novgorod garrison battalion, and since August 31 of the same year, he served in the 2nd Marine Regiment . On December 31, 1805, he was promoted to headquarters and on November 10, 1806, transferred to the 1st Marine Regiment . Here Gundius did not linger, since on February 6, 1807 he was enlisted in the Life Guard of the Ulansky Regiment .
In the ranks of the Life Guard of the Ulan regiment, he was in East Prussia in 1806–1807 and was in several battles against the French . In particular, he was in business at Gutstadt , Heilsberg and near Friedland . May 20, 1808 Gundius was awarded a golden saber with the inscription "For Bravery" (awarded on October 19, 1808)

October 23, 1807 promoted to captain and approved as commander of the 2nd squadron, October 13, 1811 received the rank of colonel .
In the Patriotic War of 1812 Gundius again fought against Napoleon. He was in the battles of Vilnius , Vitebsk , Smolensk , at the Kolotsky Monastery and at the Borodino field . Then, together with the whole army, he retreated to the Tarutinsky camp and on January 23, 1813, for his distinction in defending the camp , he was awarded the Order of Saint. Vladimir 4th degree with a bow.
When the Russian army went over to the counteroffensive, Gundius fought under Maloyaroslavets , Vyazma and Red . November 9, 1812 he was awarded the Order of St.. Georgy of the 4th degree (No. 1079 according to the cavalier list of Sudravsky and No. 2446 according to the list of Grigorovich-Stepanov)

Next Gundius was in pursuit of the enemy to the borders of the Grand Duchy of Warsaw .
In the Foreign campaign of 1813, Gundius also took part and was in the battles of Lutzen and Bautzen . However, shortly after the Bautsen case, he became seriously ill and was dismissed on leave for medical treatment.
Upon returning to service, he was appointed commander of the Taganrog Uhlan regiment on October 22, 1816, and from May 15, 1817 he commanded the Mitavy dragoon regiment .
April 14, 1818 was promoted to major general .
He died in 1821.
