Alma-Ata Orthodox Theological Seminary is the highest Orthodox educational institution of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District of the Russian Orthodox Church , which trains clergy , regents and psalm-goers . Established in 2010 .

History
The school was established on January 29, 1991 by the definition of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church . Initially, the school was located at the St. Nicholas Cathedral of the city of Almaty and assumed a two-year period of study.
In 1996, the building was transferred to the building of the former kindergarten in the Dorozhnik microdistrict.
On July 17, 2001, the term of study at the theological school was extended to four years.
On July 26, 2010, by the decision of the Holy Synod, the school was transformed into the Alma-Ata Theological Seminary. Archimandrite Gennady (Gogolev) , the candidate of theology, was dismissed from the post of rector of the Kostroma Theological Seminary .
On October 10, 2010, Archimandrite Gennady was consecrated bishop of Kaskelen, vicar of the Diocese of Astana [1] .
January 27, 2011 in the fireplace room of the publishing council of the Russian Orthodox Church , a theological and church-historical literature was collected, collected by the publishing council for the library of the Almaty Theological Seminary [2] .
In July 2011, a missionary theological faculty with distance learning was organized at the Almaty Theological Seminary [3] .
