Career
Club
He played for the Moscow banner of the Banner of Labor , as well as for Bukovina .
Coaching
He worked in the Football Department of the Sports Committee of the USSR. Coaching began in clubs in the early 1980s.
In 1982, the club was headed by the Moldavian club Nistru , which he managed to lead to the big leagues . However, the team failed to gain a foothold in it - a lack of coaching experience affected [1] . In August 1983 he was dismissed. He was awarded the title "Honored Coach of the Moldavian SSR".
In 1984-1985 (until August) he headed the Grozny " Terek " [2] .
In 1988 he headed the club Dynamo ( Vologda ). With him, the team in the first zone of the second league took 2nd place, letting forward only the Voronezh Fakel .
In 1994, Leonid Shevchenko brought Novosibirsk “ Chkalovets ” to the first league of Russian football, where the next year the team took 11th place with 22 participants. After Novosibirsk, Shevchenko worked as a head coach at Spartak from Shchelkovo .
In 1999 he coached Nosta , brought the club to the first league.
At the beginning of 2000, he headed the RFU Judicial Committee [3] , where he worked for 2 years.
In 2003-2006 he headed the club Dynamo ( Vologda ). The team performed with varying success. At the end of 2006, the club management did not renew the contract with him [4] .
He died on March 17, 2017 at the 85th year of his life [5] .
